This female is so sweet. The only problem is that she often seems to "misplace" her cubs. She'll walk one way into the woods calling for them and then comes back and will look at us as if to ask "Have you seen my cubs?". Then she will walk the opposite direction calling them. If you put your kids up a tree it's a good idea to remember what tree they are in!

Who are you calling a Jackass?
Jackass Penguin in Boulder's Beach, South Africa (Also known as the Black-Footed or African Penguin but that's not as much fun to say.)

Zombie Walker
This is one of my recent favorites but maybe I'm biased because I love this girl. I rarely process photos in anything but color but I think this works well for this image. I love the look on her face and the unique angle.

Wet Owl
I changed the background on this photo to match a spot in my home and sent it to my print lab. When it arrived I took it to one of my retailers as an example of the different print products available but they ended up purchasing it so I've added it to last weeks order. Hope it gets here soon!!
The Wolf Wins It
It was brought to my attention that I failed to post an update on the Cover Vote for Canadian Geographics "Best Wildlife Photography 2017".
Thank you for all your support...for the second year in a row one of my photos (Wolf) will be the cover image for this special edition!

Make Room For Me!!!
Puffins are not very graceful and when landing they are presented with many challenges...getting attacked by gulls that want to steal their fish, problems with the force or direction of the wind and in this case trying to land while another puffin tries to push you off the cliff :-O

Don't Eat That.
Puffins are awfully cute but sometimes not too smart. This one couldn't figure out how to take a selfie and I explained it would help if he was in front of the lens - not behind it.

I Can Bearly See You!
Wild Black Bear Sow standing up on her back legs. While some may find it nerve-racking to have such a large animal do this in front of them - it is not threatening behavior. Bears stand up like this when they hear, smell or see movement and can't see the newcomer to determine if it is a threat to her or her cubs.

The Newcomer
We're still trying to figure out who this bear is. She (I think she's a she) showed up over the weekend and appears to be a 2 or 3 year old bear. Maybe one of the yearling from last year...if it's a female it has to be Maggie since the other 3 were boys. She was very huffy (which makes sense if it's Maggie since she had quite a bit of attitude from the start) and charged one of Peanuts new cubs which didn't go over well.

Double Trouble
My favorite girl "Peanut" has two new cubs this year. The one on the right is very expressive and makes such cute little growls. He's a tough guy :-D
