Now that Christmas is over...I've been looking through this years photos and think I've come up with my top 10.  This one makes the list - they look so judgemental so I titled it "The Mean Girls"

Pine Marten last weekend in Algonquin Provincial Park.  I've been photographing this little guy for a few years now and he's a favorite of mine so it was a nice surprise that he was my first marten photographed this winter.

Collared Aracari

After three weeks away...I'm back home from Costa Rica. Coming home feels empty with Abby not here but the boys were happy to see us and I'll be focusing my time and attention on them. I almost cancelled the trip but I'm glad I didn't. It doesn't matter where you are...grief follows you but spending time with people I love was a huge help to my state of mind.

As for the trip - we had lots of rain, experienced the first hurricane in Costa Rica in 174 years of recorded history and even had earthquake tremors. We spent lots of time with our friends, found Jack, had lots of incredible wildlife opportunities and met some wonderful people. I even spent some time looking at properties for sale in the lowlands. You never know right?! One day.
