Missing You
Today I've spent much of my day reflecting on the past. I lost my friend and photography mentor a few years ago and today would have been his 73'rd birthday. My visits to Florida are always bittersweet now....filled with wonderful memories of time spent together but forever missing his presence.
Gary once said this to me. These are his words - but I always felt the same way. "If we are lucky in life, sooner or later some one will come along and enter our lives in such a way as to enrich it in a profound way. Someone who is genuine in every sense. You are one of those people...and my life is richer for it!"

Tired Momma
I watched as this Black Bear Sow walked into the woods with her two cubs and disappeared from sight. An hour later she hadn't come back out and I went to the edge of the trees to check on her and saw her resting under a large tree with her cubs playing behind her. At that moment she got up and slowly walked towards me to a fallen tree and sat down hanging her legs over it. I couldn't believe my luck!

Woodpecker
On this past trip to Costa Rica I visited a new area and had my first chance to see and photograph the Acorn Woodpeckers. Love these birds despite how noisy they are!
