Monkey Business

It's a hard job but someone has to do it ;-) Just got out of the pool, went back to our casita to relax on the porch and eat breakfast and a troop of Squirrel Monkeys decided to join us. Life is good.

So much to shoot...and never enough time!!

While I was happily shooting wild macaws in Costa Rica....I looked over to see this monkey and his friends coming out of the rainforest. Made it a bit difficult to decide what to shoot but it's a nice problem to have!!!

Cheeky

Cheeky Female Great Curassow!

When I've seen this species in Costa Rica in past years, they have been very shy and I found it impossible to get a decent photo before they disappeared. This one was not shy! I was distracted and didn't even see her behind me until she had pecked the back of my leg. Hard. In fact hard enough to draw blood. I moved away and she followed and pecked me again. So...I walked backwards to try and get away from her and she followed and moved faster to try and keep up with me. She was very vocal! I decided it would be a great time to get out the GoPro and she finally stopped pecking at me and turned her attention to the camera instead ;-)

Grumpy Monkey

I'm back home after two amazing weeks in Costa Rica and I swear I have the same expression right now as this monkey! After the amazing weather, wildlife and experiences I've had...I'm not thrilled to be home. I may just hibernate until the end of the winter ;-)
