When I've seen this species in Costa Rica in past years, they have been very shy and I found it impossible to get a decent photo before they disappeared. This one was not shy! I was distracted and didn't even see her behind me until she had pecked the back of my leg. Hard. In fact hard enough to draw blood. I moved away and she followed and pecked me again. So...I walked backwards to try and get away from her and she followed and moved faster to try and keep up with me. She was very vocal! I decided it would be a great time to get out the GoPro and she finally stopped pecking at me and turned her attention to the camera instead ;-)
