Bandit
Cutie. I know many people aren't fond of raccoons but I love them. Smart, adaptable, curious with a side of mischief. What's not to love?!

Winter Royalty
Our Canada February/March 2020 Issue Cover and "Winter Royalty" Photo Essay pages 8-13.
This magazine is always a pleasure to work with and I appreciate that they understood my desire to not disclose the location.
I receive many negative comments when I refuse to disclose the location and certain photographers get frustrated. Trust me...I understand!! However if up to one hundred photographers a day show up to see a certain Northern Hawk Owl visiting an area outside of his usual range...imagine the disturbance to a Canada Lynx with that type of circus. Anyone disclosing a location (especially for an animal like this) needs to educate themselves on the disastrous consequences for the animal. The photos will mean nothing to me if anything I've done or posted in the past negatively impacted her. My only concern is her safety and wellbeing. Enjoying the experience of being accepted in her presence these last two winters will always be more important than any of the images I've taken of her.

2019 Best Of The Best
Choosing my favorites for 2019 was a difficult task because I had so many wonderful experiences and incredible photo opportunities. You'll notice that half of my personal favorites this time around are of a Canada Lynx. I spent a wonderful few months with this female and the time I had with her will be something I always remember. I also had a few wonderful trips to Florida, Costa Rica and Borneo and being able to explore during these trips always makes me realize how lucky I am. I worked with some amazing people and organizations and enjoyed licensing my work for some exciting publications and products.
I reconnected with family and made a commitment to myself to prioritize the relationships in my life. With all of these good things, there are always losses and I'm being patient with myself. I'm learning that grief is a process without a time limit but I am often stronger than I realize and good things could be just around the corner.
I hope everyone has a healthy & happy 2020.
