Months ago when I started collecting vintage cameras, someone reached out to me on facebook and offered tips. He keeps an eye out for any cameras he knows I'm interested in when they're listed for sale. One sleepless night I was browsing recent listings and found one which had many that I knew he'd be interested in. So at about 4am, I sent him the link and I messaged the seller directly about this 1A Kodak Pocket Camera. In the morning when I got up, I had a message waiting from the seller saying it was still available. Great!
Then another message from my friend saying thanks for sharing the listing, he was on his way up - driving hours - to pickup some of the cameras. I didn't realize that part of my message to him didn't send. The part where I said I really wanted the grey 1A. Soon after I heard back from the seller saying...I'm sorry, it just sold.
I messaged her back and she laughed when she heard that I'd shared the link with the buyer. She joked that she'd put "reserved for Megan" in the box. I got a message from him when he got to the car with his huge haul and saw the note. I guess the note did its job, because when he got back into town...he decided I needed to have it Now THAT is a great friend!
So, here it is!!
